When it comes to the wedding world, it’s safe to say there are plenty of trends that rise and fall in popularity every year. Some of these trends will withstand the test of time and still be prevalent 20 years from now, while others may slowly become less and less common. Given that our wedding venue has hosted hundreds of weddings over the years, we’ve been lucky enough to have had the opportunity to witness many of these trends first-hand. And if you’re familiar with our blog, you probably are well aware that we enjoy utilizing this space as a resource for engaged couples currently planning their own big day. Whether that involves advice on selecting your vendors, ideas and inspiration for decor, breakdowns of new trends, or a number of other wedding-related topics, there is certainly plenty to discuss.
With that all being said, you’re likely not surprised to hear the direction this week’s blog post will take. When highlighting wedding trends (in general), there are a number of things you can focus on. This could relate to the location of the ceremony and reception, decor on display at your wedding, dress attire, wedding themes, individual vendors hired and so on. To simplify matters, we’re going to focus on one wedding trend specifically today and that happens to be the rising popularity of micro wedding venues. Here at Madera Estates, our number one goal since opening our wedding venue has been the importance of bringing each of our couple’s dream wedding days to life. All the way down to each individual detail, we want to make sure your big day is exactly as you’ve envisioned it.
In order to make that a reality, we understand how everyone’s dream wedding day can look a little bit different! For some, it’s a wedding celebration with a larger guest count, while others prefer a more intimate wedding day. Regardless, each offers their own unique advantages and are more than capable of creating countless magical moments! However, for this week’s blog post, we’ll be focusing specifically on the advantages of finding a micro wedding venue Houston couples will love!
What is a micro wedding venue, Houston couples?
To get this blog post underway, we’ll begin by answering a general question of what exactly a micro wedding is, before getting into a few of the reasons as to why it may make sense for your big day. Just as its name suggests, a micro wedding is essentially a more intimate celebration where you’ll typically see guests counts reach a maximum of 50. To take it one step further, a “micro wedding venue” would be one with experience hosting intimate celebrations and offering services designed specifically for these weddings with smaller guest counts.
What are the advantages of booking a micro wedding venue?
So…now that you know the basic definition of a micro wedding, what are a few of the reasons as to why it’s becoming trendy in the wedding world?
Wedding Vendors – For those who are currently in the wedding planning stages, you likely know how important of a role wedding vendors serve. They’ll be involved in several aspects of one’s wedding day and as such, you’ll want to take your time building your vendor team to ensure you hire those capable of bringing your dream wedding to life. Considering some vendor’s prices are impacted by guest count (like caterers), this price difference may provide some flexibility in your budget to still secure your favorite vendors in the other categories. In the end, the potential cost savings (or ability to re-allocate those funds to other vendors) can lead couples to consider booking a micro wedding venue.
Logistics – While planning your “Best Day Ever” should be a memorable experience, it can also easily become a stressful one too. There’s no denying the fact that there are more than a few things you’ll need to complete in the months leading up to your wedding day. With that being the case, anything you can do to simplify the process and eliminate any unnecessary stress will be well worth it. While you can create a stress-free experience when planning weddings of all sizes (when done correctly), it’s definitely a little easier to do with a micro wedding. After all, there are less guests involved, which makes everything simpler right there. Not to mention, if your micro wedding venue allows for the ceremony and reception to be held at the same place, that’ll make the logistics even more straightforward.
Overall Experience – Another name for micro weddings is “intimate weddings.” You’ll often hear those two terms as being interchangeable in the wedding world. That leads us to our next advantage of booking a micro wedding venue, which happens to be its impact on the overall experience for you, your partner, and all of your loved ones in-attendance. With there being fewer guests, you’ll find it is much easier to spend quality time with everyone attending your big day. While every bride and groom tries their best to make this happen on their wedding day, it’s not always realistic when you have a few hundred guests (compared to 50 or less). With a micro wedding, you’ll have no trouble finding time to capture photos with each of your loved ones and visit while you celebrate this momentous occasion. For some couples, this factor alone is enough to make them consider a micro wedding venue!
To sum it all up, there are more than a few reasons as to why micro weddings are becoming a popular option for engaged couples. Nonetheless, we primarily wanted to highlight a few of the more common advantages here! The impact it has on securing your favorite vendors, limiting stress, and creating a more intimate wedding day experience are all major positives.
