In this week’s blog post, we’re going to take an inside look at how technology has continued to become more and more ingrained in the wedding planning world. After all, technology is so intertwined with many other aspects of our daily lives, so it’s not really too surprising that it’s also been impactful in the wedding world too. In relation to weddings, it has provided a number of different benefits, including allowing for a stress-free wedding planning experience. We’ll touch on a few of these advantages in our blog post and hopefully shed light on some ideas you may consider incorporating into your own wedding celebration.
Before hopping into that though, do we have anyone stopping by our blog for the first time? If so, welcome to Madera Estates! Now…on to technology and how it’s been quite impactful in the wedding world.
Wedding Websites
When it comes to wedding planning, there are a number of things you’ll want to share with your guests. While you’ll certainly still send out your “Save the Dates” and invitations that will cover many of the key details, it wouldn’t hurt to have everything compiled into one place. That is where a wedding website comes into play. This is the perfect place to highlight a number of key pieces of information, including (but not limited to) registry links, date/time, location, driving directions, room blocks at hotels, ability to digitally RSVP and more! Even though building a website may seem like a daunting task, you can rest assured knowing that they’ve made the process of building your wedding website extremely easy. In fact, there are platforms built solely for this purpose, so you’ll have no trouble getting one ready to go.
Social Media
Staying with the “digital” theme of wedding planning and technology, next we have social media. It’s safe to say social media is already a big part of our day-to-day lives, so it’s no surprise that it’s going to be mentioned in this blog post too. With this, there are a few different ways in which we can look at its involvement in the wedding world. As you work through the various wedding planning tasks, it never hurts to have some resources available for coming up with ideas, right?
From picking out decor and selecting a theme to finalizing your wedding vendor selections and more, you’ll have plenty to do! Social media can be the perfect place for this. You can browse through popular hashtags to see photos of what other couples have utilized for their own wedding celebration. In terms of vendor selections, you can check out the social media feeds of various vendors in your area. This can be a great way to learn more about their style and get an idea of whether or not they align with your vision. Already have your wedding venue selected? If so, check out the venue’s feed and see which vendors they’re tagging in the posts. This not only gives you an idea of the type of work they do, but you’ll also know they have experience working weddings at your venue. Lastly, before going on to the next social media-related topic, it’s also important to note that several wedding vendors nowadays are quite active on social media too, which only adds to the benefit it provides for engaged couples! Already have a unique wedding hashtag picked out for your wedding? This is definitely one of our favorite fun wedding trends that has rapidly grown in popularity. In essence, you’ll be able to not only let your creative shine with a unique and personalized hashtag, but also it ends up creating a digital photo album of pictures that your guests post and also is something you can utilize throughout numerous stages of the wedding planning process too.
Wedding Day Technology
While a key focus on this week’s blog post was the wedding planning stages, the truth is technology’s involvement in the wedding world extends much farther than just that. With this, I’m referencing the wedding day itself. In the section above, we highlighted how wedding hashtags are a tremendous way to compile (into one place) all of the photos that your friends and family post from your wedding day. This is definitely a cool thing to do! In terms of the actual wedding day though, another neat example of technology has been the growth in photo booths. While photo booths have been around for a little while, several of the modern-day options present some very fun possibilities. Have you ever attended a wedding that had a 360 photo booth? Essentially, there’s a platform that you can stand on and then a camera wraps around it to create cool short videos that your guests can share on social media. Long story short, it will undoubtedly be a hit at your wedding reception! Are you hiring a wedding videographer for your wedding? This is another example of something that isn’t technically new to the wedding world, but as is the case with any other vendors, videography professionals have continued to get better and better at their craft. Add in new gadgets and gizmos (like advanced drone technology) and the finished videos that arise are truly amazing.
All in all, it’s not a shock that technology has impacted the wedding industry in more ways than one! Being a wedding venue and having the opportunity to work with couples tying the knot every year, we love to see the new ideas that rise in popularity over time. We’ve highlighted a few (both in the planning stages and the actual day itself), but we’re definitely excited to see what the future holds and how the wedding world will continue to grow!
