Is it safe to say that nearly every industry out there is consistently evolving as new trends hit the market each year? From technology to sports and yes, certainly weddings, that statement is consistently proven to be true. For those that have followed some of our prior blog posts, you likely know that we place an emphasis on the wedding planning process. The reason behind this? Unless you’ve planned a large-scale event before (whether that be a wedding, corporate event or anything else), it can quickly become quite overwhelming. Establishing budgets, booking vendors, setting timelines, the list goes on. It doesn’t take long before it can become quite the project.
One aspect of wedding planning that every couple looks forward to is crafting unique ideas to incorporate into their big day. As you can likely imagine, social media is an excellent place to start when it comes to wedding day inspiration. This is a major reason why we also encourage couples to check out our Facebook and Instagram pages to get a real glimpse of what weddings look like at Madera Estates. However, on today’s blog, we’ll also touch on this exact same topic. In fact, we’re going to take an inside look at five different unique ideas that we think every couple should consider in 2022.

Include Animals
Yes, we said it! Including animals is such a fun and unique idea to create a wedding day that everyone will remember. Here at Madera Estates, we’ve been able to witness this first-hand on plenty of occasions and there’s no denying that it’s always memorable. To add to it, when we say include animals on your big day, there are so many different avenues you can consider, such as:
Your Pets – Let’s face it, pets are part of the family, right? With that in mind, why not include them in the celebration in one way or another? Maybe that means bringing them to the venue and having them be a part of some pre-wedding photos. Just make sure someone is in charge of them once the ceremony gets underway! Or…another possibility is to just have a few photos throughout of you, your spouse and your pet. In any case, incorporating your furry friend is something that plenty of couples do on their big day!
Alpacas – Believe it or not, alpacas have graced us with their presence on more than a few wedding days at Madera Estates. Thanks to our friends at Texas Party Animals, their trained alpacas have been the perfect unique addition to any wedding celebration. Your guests will be shocked when they see them at the venue and they’ll undoubtedly make for the most adorable photos for your wedding album!
Light Up the Sky
We’ve talked about firework displays on multiple occasions here on our blog and for good reason. Whether it be for the final send-off or at any other point in the celebration, fireworks are simply something that everyone will enjoy! Trust us, fireworks are one of those trends that we’ve seen quickly become more and more common at weddings. Keep in mind, if you have your heart set on including some sort of firework display, make sure to communicate this to the venue early on. Whether it be permits, local restrictions or anything else, you’ll want to make sure there’s no obstacles you’ll need to be worried about. After all, it’s better to be safe than sorry. In addition, make sure to communicate the schedule of this show to your photographers or videographers ahead of time, so they can make sure to capture the perfect shots!
What’s Your Theme?
Our next idea is more of an open-ended one (in comparison to the two above), but nonetheless an easy way to make your big day truly one-of-a-kind. When we first meet with most couples, they already have a general vision (or theme) of their wedding in mind. Having said that, what that theme looks like is entirely up to you. It could be tied to the colors you select for the decor, floral arrangements and so on to match the season in which you’re tying the knot. This can be perfect for a fall-time celebration or a summer soiree. It could be a vintage-themed wedding that includes an old-school car as the getaway vehicle and has Hollywood-type vibes scattered throughout. We’ve seen this one before and it’s magical as well! Long story short, your theme is one thing that sets the mood for the entire night and can make your wedding truly unique.
Get Creative With the Cake
Who doesn’t love a good wedding cake? It’s certainly one of those wedding-day traditions that has been around forever and also presents a bevy of options for engaged couples. Going right along with this, it’s also become quite popular to have a groom’s cake as well, which displays some of the qualities and interests of the groom. So, in essence, while your main cake may be more of the traditional white wedding cake (which can still be unique in its own right), the groom’s cake is where you can be more creative. Need some inspiration? If you and your significant other met while in college, maybe have it revolve around your alma mater? We’ve seen a few Aggie cakes over the years! Gig ‘em! How about a favorite professional sports team, such as the Texans or Astros? Those also tend to be quite popular themes for the groom’s cake!
In the end, while groom’s cakes are definitely an optional component, it can be a fun way to bring a creative twist to your wedding. 360 Photo Booth
While photo booths with props have been a staple in the wedding industry for years, the 360 photo booth has quickly grown in popularity in recent years. If you’ve been to a wedding that had one of these on-site, you definitely know how fun these can be for guests. Guests will stand on a platform while the photo booth arm rotates all around them. After it’s complete, most of these units will provide guests with a shareable link that they can post to social media. Such a fun tool to include, and we’re sure plenty of your guests will be posting their fun clips on Instagram and Facebook as well!
