15 Important To-Dos The Week of Your Wedding!

This blog post is all about checking off the to-dos the week of your wedding! You’ve got the ring on your left hand, the date set, all the vendors booked and you’re about to marry the spouse of your dreams! Your wedding day is no doubt an exciting milestone. With so much to do, it can be a bit overwhelming sometimes leading up to the celebration. This week on the blog, we’re sharing 15 important to-dos the week of your wedding! With all the big-ticket items taken care of, here are the final things you need to tackle the week leading up to your walk down the aisle.

1). Get Pampered

You’ll likely have several to-dos the week of your wedding! With your checklist piling up, it can easily get overwhelming. Now’s the time to relax, soak in the moment, and take some time to pamper yourself. Get a manicure, pedicure, and maybe even a massage! Taking a little time for yourself will keep you calm and content.

2). Eat Well & Stay Hydrated

Eating clean is never a choice you’d regret, especially leading up to your big day! Be sure to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. This is especially true for couples getting married in a warm climate. After all, you don’t want to pass out during the ceremony! Encourage your wedding party to also guzzle down fluids on the morning of your wedding day.

3). Do Some Self-Care

Mental health is important. Stress can ruin the joy of getting married. Be sure to practice some self-care! Whether that’s meditation, yoga, or some quiet time, be kind to yourself! Don’t forget to get plenty of sleep so that you won’t be exhausted during the celebration!

4). Break-In Your Shoes

Get your shoes in working order! You might agree, no matter how cute shoes are they aren’t worth it if they are going to hurt. Wear your wedding day shoes around the house. You might notice that there are certain areas that get sore more than others. If this is the case, buy some preventative blister products at your local drugstore.

5). Clean Your Engagement Ring

Your engagement ring will likely get a lot of attention on your wedding day! Not only will guests ask to see it, but your photographer will use it as a prop throughout the day. Be sure your rings are sparkly clean and ready for their closeup!

6). Communicate With Your Vendors

Double-check arrival times with your vendors. Ideally, you’ll have a timeline created that you can provide to your vendors so that everyone’s on the same page. Make sure any outstanding balances have been taken care of! You don’t want a vendor not to show up because of a forgotten payment!

7). Get Gratuities In Order

Some couples like to tip their vendors. If you’re going to tip, have the envelopes ready ahead of time and instruct your wedding coordinator to pass them out at the end of the night.

8). Confirm With Guests

Believe it or not, a lot can change in the final weeks leading up to your wedding day. It’s not a bad idea to contact all of your guests and double verify their RSVP count. Last-minute obstacles could occur that prevent some guests from attending. Having an accurate guest count is super important for finalizing your seating chart and catering needs.

9). Finalize Your Shot List

Now’s the time to finalize your shot list! Photographers love it when you can provide them with an organized list of all the photos you want. This is especially important for family photos! PRO TIP: Instruct your guests ahead of time if they are going to be included in family photos. It’s a pain to track down people otherwise.

10). Check The Weather

Be sure to check the weather about a week leading up to your wedding day. If there’s a chance of inclement weather, make accommodations! If it’s going to rain, you might consider purchasing clear umbrellas on Amazon. This way, you’ll be able to take adorable photos outside despite the precipitation. Likewise, if a cold front is coming in, make sure your wedding party and guests have adequate attire to be comfortable!

11). Practice Your Vows

Sometimes we get stage fright. Especially when we’re sharing our deepest thoughts with all of our friends and family! If you and your fiancé are planning on exchanging personalized vows, be sure to practice reading them out loud a few times before the ceremony.

12). Delegate Last Minute Details

You might find yourself with a few last-minute tasks that need to be completed. Don’t stress out! Odds are high that you have kind friends and family members that are happy to help alleviate items off of your checklist! From printing programs to packaging favors, making welcome bags, writing menu cards and so on, be sure to ask for help if you’re feeling overwhelmed!

13). Assign Someone To Pack Up

You likely will have decorations, gifts, and flowers to consider after the wedding. You and your spouse will probably want to make a getaway after your grand exit. Assign a few pals to make sure these items get to your home after the festivities. Don’t forget to ask your caterer and baker about packaging leftovers!

14). Check Your Marriage License

You want this shindig to be legal right?! Getting your marriage license in order is definitely on your must-do list! Talk to your officiant if you have any concerns.

15). Confirm Honeymoon Logistics

Pack your bag and confirm honeymoon logistics! Double-check your airfare, hotel, and transportation accommodations. If you’re traveling out of the country, don’t forget to bring your passport as well as paper copies of your identification documents in case they get lost. Additionally, be sure to clean your home! You don’t want to come home from a fabulous vacation to a messy house. Take the time now to get your household in order. If you have pets, be sure that they have everything they need before you leave.
