1). Jazz Up The Attire
When it comes to wedding day attire, there are no limits! This not only pertains to the couple tying the knot but also their wedding party. From vibrant dresses to snazzy jackets, vivid pocket squares, silly socks, and bright kicks, there are seemingly endless ways to incorporate pride into your wedding day look.
2). Ombre Balloon Arch
If you want an awesome backdrop for photos, consider a balloon arch with an ombre effect. Use all the colors of the rainbow, or even just a few of your favorites, to create a fun and playful piece of decor! Place the balloon garland near the welcome table, use it as a ceremony backdrop, or incorporate it into your reception decor. Your guests will love using this decorative piece to pose for Insta-worthy photos!
3). Bold Floral Arrangements & Decor
Go bright and bold with your flowers! Ask your florist to pack lots of vibrant colors into your floral arrangements. For your reception, consider colorful candlesticks, linens, chair sashes, and chargers.
4). Smoke Bombs
Want your wedding party photos to turn out super cool? Order some colorful photography smoke bombs! This will definitely give you a memorable keepsake that you’ll be proud to display throughout your home.
5). Be Poetic
During your ceremony, ask your officiant to share what unconditional love is really all about! There are several quotes for you to choose from, here are a few of our favorites.
“No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice, and family. In forming a marital union, two people become something greater than once they were. As some of the petitioners in these cases demonstrate, marriage embodies a love that may endure even past death. It would misunderstand these men and women to say they disrespect the idea of marriage. Their plea is that they do respect it, respect it so deeply that they seek to find its fulfillment for themselves. Their hope is not to be condemned to live in loneliness, excluded from one of civilization’s oldest institutions. They ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The Constitution grants them that right.” ~ Justice Anthony Kennedy’s majority opinion in Hodges v. Obergefell
“Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope.” ~ Maya Angelou
“Love is a partnership of two unique people who bring out the very best in each other, and who know that even though they are wonderful as individuals, they are even better together.” ~ Barbara Cage
6). Pop Some Confetti
Once the vows have been exchanged, walk back down the aisle and have your guests pop some biodegradable rainbow confetti! Multicolored flower petals work too. This will add a fun element to your ceremony, and the photos are sure to turn out adorable!
7). Serve Signature Drinks
Ask your bartender to create colorful signature drinks. A little food coloring never killed anyone!
8). Color-Blocked Seating Chart
Make your seating chart merry! Color-blocking is ultra-satisfying to the eye. Create a gradient effect or scatter pops of color throughout your seating chart.
9). Reception Lighting
Ambiance is everything! Uplighting can make a massive difference in the look and feel of a reception space. Have multiple colors throughout, or swap out different colors throughout the celebration!
10). Cake & Dessert Bar
How fun would it be to cut into your wedding cake and see rainbow layers?! Not to mention, there are tons of fun options for your wedding cake topper! From witty sayings to character designs, don’t be afraid to choose a cake topper that’s outside the box and represents your relationship.
If you want to be extra, consider having a dessert bar at your reception! Fill the dessert table with decadent, vibrant-colored, pastries and candy. Heck – add some food coloring to a white chocolate fountain for a pop of color. Delicious!
11). Fabulous Photo Booth
Who doesn’t love a good photo booth? Hang a colorful backdrop and buy some pride props! Guests will have so much fun, and you’ll have some awesome keepsakes.
12). Light Up The Dance Floor
You wouldn’t believe what a difference dance floor props can make! Keep your guests entertained on the dance floor with LED foam sticks, or glow-in-the-dark accessories. These party props will encourage guests to party all night and are fun for photos.

13). Live Entertainment
Want a parade of live entertainers at your wedding? From drag queens to showgirls, and everything in between, J&D Entertainment is a great go-to for all your entertainment needs!
14). Neon Sign
The more photo-ops the better, right? Consider getting a custom neon sign that reads “love is love”. Not only will this make for some adorable photos, but you can use it as decor in your home later.
15). Gift Colorful Favors
There are lots of colorful favors to choose from. Show your pride with rainbow candy, custom royal icing cookies, shot glasses, koozies, and more!
16). Make A Donation
These days, many couples often live together long before the “I do’s”. If you and your partner don’t feel like you need to register for gifts, consider asking for donations to be made in your honor. A few Houston LGBT+ organizations to consider include Tony’s Place, Allgo, Equality Texas Foundation, Human Rights Campaign, and Transgender Foundation of America Houston Chapter.
17). Bring A Flag As A Prop
You probably already have a pride flag. Bring it to your wedding to use as a prop for photos! Then you can use the picture to send out thank you cards after the event.
18). Highlight LGBT+ Artists
Music is a major component of most weddings, why not celebrate some of your favorite LGBT+ artists? Elton John, Sam Smith, Queen, Miley Cyrus – the list goes on and on!
19). Go Out With A Colorful Bang!
Having a surprise firework display will certainly wow your guests! After the firework show, line your guests up for a sparkler send-off. Talk about fun!
