Although the first official day of summer is right around the corner, this week’s blog post is going to be designed specifically for our spring brides and couples that may be planning for a spring wedding in 2026. After all, if your wedding date is set for spring 2026, chances are you’re already beginning the planning process and working on creating your “Best Day Ever!” Given that our wedding blog has always been focused on creating resources that engaged couples can utilize in the wedding planning process, this week’s blog post will follow a similar theme as we look to provide advice on creating the most magical spring wedding celebration!

Before we get into all of the details on what makes the spring season so amazing for weddings, we’ll first provide an introduction for those stopping by our blog for the first time. Welcome to Madera Estates! As a venue that has hosted hundreds of weddings over the years, we’re always excited to learn more about what couples have envisioned for their big day. Whether that be for the ceremony, reception, final send-off or anything else, there are definitely plenty of tasks you’ll complete before the big day arrives. As mentioned in the opening paragraph, this week’s blog post will be perfect for spring brides and couples tying the knot next spring. No matter what stage you’re at in the planning process, we hope this blog post sheds some light on the many different possibilities available!

Take advantage of the beautiful color palettes and floral arrangements.

There is obviously a lot to love about spring weddings, but it’s tough to find a better place to start than with the stunning color palettes and floral arrangements that rise in popularity throughout the spring season.

First off, what color palettes are the biggest hit in spring? Without a doubt, pastel colors quickly become very common during the spring wedding season. Blues, pinks, greens, the list goes on! These are sure to pop in the photos and will also result in a fun environment that everyone will love. Whether it be in regards to the bridesmaids dresses, decor or anything else, pastel colors can be a great starting point as you navigate the color palette aspect of wedding planning.

The second part of this equation involves the floral arrangements that you’ll select. You’ll obviously want to find something that aligns directly with the color palettes (which we referenced above) and your florist can also be a huge resource on this decision as they can help walk you through the various options. With that being the case, any guesses as to which types of in-season flowers you may consider for spring weddings? Tulips, lilacs, peonies, orchids and hydrangeas are a few that come to mind! All in all, you’ll be glad to know there are plenty of options.

Are you currently touring venues? Remember this!

Given that we’re still a little ways away from next spring, chances are engaged couples could be at a wide variety of spots in the planning process. Some may still be working on locking in a date and finding a venue, while others could be building out their team of vendors. Nonetheless, for those that haven’t yet booked their wedding venue, we wanted to provide you with a few pieces of advice here.

One thing that can always save you a little unnecessary stress is finding a venue with both an indoor and outdoor space available. The biggest reason for this is the fact that many couples (especially those in Texas) may look to take advantage of the ideal weather for their spring wedding. Whether that means an outdoor ceremony with an indoor reception or vice versa, that decision is going to be up to you. However, the reason why we wanted to mention this point here is because having an indoor space available will ensure you have a back-up plan in case it rains. The spring season can produce some rainfall here in the Houston/Conroe area, so that’s something worth keeping in mind in the event that rain showers do appear on the forecast as your big day draws near. In the end, there will be several different factors that affect your wedding venue selection, but this could definitely be an item to consider.

Capitalize on the natural beauty of the spring season.

Earlier in this blog post, we talked about how the in-season florals for the spring season can be simply stunning! Well, another factor that is in a similar category has to do with the beauty of the surrounding environment. This natural beauty can offer so many advantages to spring brides and couples! For instance, it will only add to the magic of your wedding photos, especially for those tying the knot with an outdoor ceremony. Even though every type of tree can be slightly different, here in Texas, we typically start to see the leaf out process begin in early spring. Plus, since we should be free of the colder winter weather as we journey into the spring season, you’ll start to see landscaping take center stage with beautiful flowers everywhere!

What important timelines should I keep in mind?

As this blog post comes to an end, we wanted to mention the importance of timing in two different ways. First off, if you haven’t selected the actual date in which you’ll tie the knot yet, we wanted to highlight a couple dates to keep in mind. One holiday weekend that can usually be a popular time for weddings is Memorial Day Weekend. With this falling in the spring season (Memorial Day is 5/25/26 next year), hosting a wedding on the Saturday or Sunday right before the holiday can be a terrific option! Remember though that not all holidays are necessarily ideal for weddings. With some holidays, you’ll have to consider how guest availability could be diminished as your guests may have prior commitments and Easter can be a great example of that!

With this blog post being published about 9 months before the start of spring 2026, you might be wondering which wedding planning tasks you should prioritize right now. Every spring couple will probably be working off slightly different timelines, but we can provide some general estimates here. Given that spring wedding dates are 9-12 months out (depending on when in the spring season your wedding is), you’ll want to have a venue selected, budget in-place and likely working on filling out your vendor team as well, amongst other items, at this time. Once those are completed, you can continue on to other tasks, like creating/sending out save-the-dates, working on your guest list and even scheduling your engagement photos! To sum it up, one of the best pieces of advice we can provide to couples planning their wedding is to stay on schedule and follow a timeline. Trust us, this will make your life a whole lot easier (and less stressful)!
