Planning a wedding is filled with so many important decisions! From crafting your dream team of talented vendors to booking your honeymoon and everything in-between, we’re confident that you’ll enjoy every step of this exciting journey. However, before you and your fiance start making all of these key selections, you’ll have a few items to take care of first. This includes crafting a budget for the wedding, setting a date for the big day and touring potential venues. Each of these are certainly significant tasks to complete and will also help streamline future decisions as well!
Given that locking in a wedding date is one of the first wedding planning to-do’s you’ll complete, the blog post you’re about to read will provide some guidance in doing just that. In today’s wedding world, it’s not uncommon for couples to start the planning process many months or over a year in-advance. With that being the case, we’ve compiled a guide filled with different dates in 2025 that you may want to consider for your wedding. Whether that be the always-popular fall Saturday’s, holidays that can also be perfect for weddings or other days holding unique significance, there’s no shortage of possibilities. Let’s dive right in!
Shout-out to The Knot for compiling all of the lucky wedding dates for the next few years. We’ve included 2025 dates below, but for 2023, 2024 and 2026, check out their article HERE.
JANUARY
Who else LOVES a winter wedding? As a wedding venue located nearby Houston, it’s safe to say our winter weather is a little milder in comparison to other parts of the country, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still plan a unique wedding celebration! For one, the in-season flowers for the winter are absolutely beautiful. Orchids, amaryllis, white lilies, the list goes on. Your florist will have no trouble crafting something amazing for the floral arrangements.
Not to mention, the winter season also is perfect for adding in fun accessories too. Whether that be a faux fur shawl, long-sleeved wedding dress or anything else, it’ll undoubtedly be a blast browsing through Pinterest for ideas! By the way, did you know National Spouses Day happens to be in January too?

FEBRUARY
Still residing in the winter season, many of the in-season florals we highlighted above are still relevant in February too. However, I think most would agree that Valentine’s Day is one of the first things people associate with February! Often referred to as the “Month of Love,” it can definitely be a fitting time for couples to tie the knot. Add in a margarita machine from Mr Margarita (to celebrate National Margarita Day, of course) and you’ll be all set for a memorable celebration!
As a side note, before we continue on, it’s always important to remember certain dates that you may want to avoid as well. With Super Bowl Sunday falling in February, that might not be the best fit for those with football fans in attendance!

MARCH
Spring is here! Without a doubt, the spring season brings so many cute color palettes to the wedding world. Pastel colors are obviously always a hit! Add in the weather starting to warm up, longer days, beautiful in-season flowers, and it’s no surprise why the spring season is a popular one for weddings!
In terms of particular holidays in the month of March, St. Patrick’s Day could be one that creates an awesome theme for your big day. Emerald green dresses with a touch of gold scattered throughout? Additionally, Mardi Gras also falls in March for 2025 too. Being a few hours away from New Orleans here in Conroe, this could be a fun way to celebrate with a color palette consisting of purple, green and gold.

MAY
May the 4th be with you! For Star Wars fans, the month of May could allow for a unique component to be included in your wedding day fun. Here at Madera Estates, we even once had a baby Yoda cake for a wedding (kudos to Cakes by Gina for her amazing work on that). To take it one step further, this couple also included lightsabers with the sparklers for the final send-off. If you need some inspiration for a Star Wars-themed wedding, look no further!
Another interesting idea for a May wedding would involve utilizing the three-day weekend that accompanies Memorial Day. Many people consider Memorial Day Weekend to be the time that officially kicks off summer (although the first day of summer is technically in June). Nonetheless, since many of your guests will likely have work off on that Monday, this holiday weekend allows for plenty of flexibility in scheduling wedding festivities. For instance, with Monday being Memorial Day, it’s no surprise why the preceding Sunday tends to be a popular wedding date.
By the way, if you’re looking for something numbers-related, the one and only palindrome of 2025 falls in May (5-25-2025).

Love is love! June also happens to be “Pride Month” too and can be the perfect month for LGBTQ+ couples tying the knot. Magical fireworks displays have occurred on a number of occasions at our wedding venue. And to be completely honest, they definitely never get old! Each and every time we hear a couple wanting to add them into their wedding day, we can’t help but smile. If you’re tying the knot near the Houston area, we know just who to call for all things related to fireworks at weddings. Shout-out ROAR Over Texas!

AUGUST
While there are no federal holidays in this final full month of summer, weddings are sure to fill up the calendar! With the longer days, you’ll have plenty of flexibility in regards to your wedding day timeline. Thanks to the warmer weather, you’ll have the option of taking the party outside later in the evening to dance under the stars or even enjoy an evening fireworks display!
August also includes a trio of special days worth incorporating into your wedding day festivities too. Falling on the 10th, National S’mores Day could mean adding in a s’mores bar, which I’m sure all of your guests will love! National Couples Day is celebrated on the 18th and given that we’re talking all about weddings, I don’t think that one needs much more explaining! SEPTEMBER
When choosing the most popular month for weddings, you could make a strong case for September holding the top spot. From the beautiful photo ops to the stunning color palettes (reds, oranges, yellows) and everything else, there’s simply a lot to love! Likewise, just as we referenced above with Memorial Day weekend, fall also provides a unique opportunity to utilize a three-day holiday weekend to your advantage. Falling on the first Monday of September each year, the Sunday before Labor Day always tends to be a great date for engaged couples to consider.

OCTOBER
With fall starting to settle in, the leaves will start to change colors, temperatures will be slowly dropping and the holiday season will be quickly approaching. That all being said, it’s no surprise why October continues to be a popular month for weddings. When thinking about October, Halloween will likely be one of the first things that comes to mind. Have you ever considered a Halloween-themed wedding though? You’ll obviously want to avoid going overboard with the spooky decorations, but from personal experience, we’ve seen a “Til Death Do Us Part” wedding look absolutely flawless. NOVEMBER
If you love all of the fall wedding trends, but September and October are booked up at your favorite wedding venue, there’s still November! While the temps can start to get a little chilly depending on where your wedding will be held, there are still more than a few options. For instance, since it’s impossible to predict the weather that far in-advance, look for venues with indoor and outdoor spaces available. This will ensure you’re covered no matter what!
As is the case with any major holiday like Thanksgiving (where guests could have prior commitments), you’ll want to take this into account when planning a wedding near that time period. Nonetheless, the weekdays leading up to Thanksgiving could make sense for some couples, including creating the opportunity to save money in the process with it being a weekday wedding!

- Dia de los Muertos – Saturday, November 1 – Sunday, November 2
- Veterans Day – Tuesday, November 11
- Thanksgiving – Thursday, November 27
Lucky Days:

DECEMBER
Our final stop in this guide through potential 2025 wedding dates is December. Having just celebrated Thanksgiving in the prior month, December can certainly be a busy month, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t time for a wedding! Similar to what we had mentioned above with January, there are so many beautiful in-season florals to consider for a winter wedding. Going hand-in-hand with that, the popular color palettes (emerald, winter blue, dark red, etc) will definitely pop in your wedding photos too.
Everyone loves desserts at weddings, right? Even if you’ll be serving wedding cake on your big day, it doesn’t hurt to have other options! December is home to National Brownie Day, Cocoa Day and Cupcake Day. Safe to say there’s a little bit of everything there!
