As you begin on the many various wedding planning tasks, you’ll quickly notice how helpful it can be to have a checklist to work with. Not only will this help ensure you don’t skip any important to-do’s, but it will be extremely useful to know which items you should prioritize at different stages in the planning process. After all, as you can likely guess, there are certainly going to be particular items that you’ll want to complete sooner rather than later. This will just ensure you don’t have any limitations when it comes to selecting vendors that are capable of delivering exceptional services to bring your dream wedding to life!
Having said all of that, it goes without saying that one wedding planning task you won’t want to procrastinate on will be selecting an actual wedding date. No surprises there, right? The actual date that you select will impact several things, including overall pricing, vendor availability and when you’ll need to complete other tasks (like sending out save the dates and invitations). Along with selecting your wedding date, there are several other items that you’ll find yourself working on in those weeks shortly after the engagement. Think of things like establishing a general budget for the wedding, browsing through potential venues and of course, celebrating the exciting engagement news with your friends and family.
Here at our wedding venue in Conroe, TX, our team has the opportunity to help couples planning their wedding throughout every month/season of the year. Spring, summer, fall, winter, weekends, weekdays, you name it! To sum it up, no matter what day you select, we’re sure it will be absolutely spectacular. After all, there’s a reason why they call it the “Best Day Ever!” Throughout this week’s blog post, we’re going to be taking a look at a number of specific dates throughout the 2026 year that you may want to keep in mind if you’re planning a wedding in 2026.
Are you and your soon-to-be spouse tying the knot in 2025? If so, feel free to take a look through our complete guide to 2025 wedding dates HERE.
Special shout-out to The Knot for compiling the list of lucky wedding dates. Throughout this blog post, you’ll see the 2026 lucky wedding dates, but if you’re interested in seeing the 2025, 2027 or 2028 dates, check out their article HERE.
January
Simply put, winter weddings can be quite magical! Keep in mind that it is important to note that winter weddings can look a little bit different depending on where the wedding will take place. After all, the weather can be a factor that comes into play. As a wedding venue in Texas, it’s safe to say our winter weather isn’t typically quite as “wintry” as other parts of the country. Nonetheless, we don’t want that to discourage you from bringing out all of the fun winter accessories as you prepare for your big day. After all, the low temperatures during these months will still average in the 40’s here, so you’ll want to prepare for colder weather!
What makes winter weddings so special? Truth be told, we think it is a combination of several items. Orchids, poinsettias and white lilies are just a few of the stunning in-season flowers that you can pick from! With the colder temps, you can get a little more creative with various other aspects too, like trying out a long-sleeved wedding gown or having shawls for the bridesmaids. How about the amazing color palettes? Any shade of blue can make sense for a winter wedding and another option could be dark reds, which are always sure to pop!

February
Being called “The Month of Love,” it’s no surprise that February can be the perfect month to tie the knot! Given that February still resides in the winter season, many of the ideas mentioned above can also apply here (in regards to the color palettes and in-season florals). However, we also wanted to mention that it wouldn’t be a bad idea to consider pinks or reds too when it comes to which color palette you pick for a February wedding. Both red and pink shades possess the ability to truly pop with plenty of neutral colors.
In addition to being referred to as the “Month of Love,” February is also home to “National Margarita Day.” If you’re looking for a unique idea to incorporate into your wedding reception, consider having a margarita machine on-site! If you’re considering a Sunday wedding, don’t forget that Super Bowl Sunday also falls in February too. For those that are big football fans, you may want to keep that in mind!

Whether it be in regards to the bridesmaids dresses, decor throughout the venue or anything else, you can’t go wrong with pastel colors! May
While the start of summer is technically in June, I think many consider Memorial Day Weekend to be the event that kicks off the summer season. And with that, we always like to mention that this particular holiday can be a terrific time for weddings. After all, many of your guests will likely already be off work on Monday, so they won’t have to rush back after the wedding. Having said that, the Sunday preceding Memorial Day can be a great day to say your “I Do’s.”
May the 4th be with you! Are you or your partner a big Star Wars fan? If so, that could be a possible component worth incorporating into your wedding day fun. We even once had a wedding where Cakes by Gina created a baby Yoda cake. Plus, this particular couple also had lightsabers included with their final send-off. June
Given that the first official day of summer is in June, we certainly have plenty of things to talk about! For one, the vibrant and bright colors (that tend to be so popular in the summer months) are always something that truly pops in the wedding photos, as well as creates a fun-filled atmosphere. Thanks to the longer days, couples have more flexibility in their wedding day schedules, including the possibility to incorporate golden hour photos. Not to mention, the venue’s landscaping should be looking top-notch, which will add yet another stunning element to your wedding celebration.
In addition to being the official start to summer, June is also Pride Month. For LGBTQ+ couples tying the knot, this can be the perfect way to create an unforgettable celebration!

August
Even though fall is right around the corner, that doesn’t mean there isn’t still time for a summer wedding celebration. In the previous sections, we’ve discussed how the summer months give couples some added flexibility when it comes to creating their wedding day timelines. Well…the longer days may have an impact on when you start your ceremony and the warmer evening weather will give you the opportunity to add an outdoor nighttime component towards the end of your wedding reception. Maybe a final dance under the stars after the reception or even a late night fireworks display?
With National S’mores Day falling on August 10th, couples can’t go wrong with having a s’mores bar at their reception, which we’re sure everyone will love! On the 26th of August, you’ll notice there is a “National Dog Day.” In case you needed another reason to include your pet as a “Dog of Honor,” this is it!

September
Year in and year out, September continues to be one of the most popular months for weddings. Although the weather is still slightly warm, it’s safe to say that you’ll notice it beginning to cool down a little bit. And with the first day of fall being in September, you’ll also start to see all of the wonderful things associated with the fall season. The stunning backdrops, beautiful color palettes, you name it!
Did you know that Labor Day Weekend can be an excellent time for weddings? With Monday being a holiday, this can be a great way to ensure guests don’t have to rush back right after the wedding, which is especially important if you have several guests that will be traveling from out-of-town. If you’re searching for a September wedding date, don’t hesitate to ask about the Saturday or Sunday before Labor Day.

October
When it comes to the popularity of different months for weddings, you can safely say that October will be at the top of the list. Now that we are fully into the fall season, temperatures will continue to gradually decline (some locations more than others), leaves will start to fall off the trees, and you’ll essentially have the perfect recipe for a stunning wedding celebration. The beautiful backdrops alone will add such a lovely aspect to your wedding photos!
For those looking for ideas on a themed wedding, Halloween could present some unique possibilities. We had a couple go with a “Til Death Do Us Part” theme and it was simply amazing. Click the link HERE to check out a blog post that covers the wedding in more detail.

November
If you’re interested in a fall wedding, but won’t be tying the knot in September or October, you can always go with November! Just as we’ve discussed in the previous two months, the fall foliage alone will create the most stunning backdrops and we’re confident you’ll love the wedding photos that come out of it. Temps will continue to fall, so depending on where your venue is, you’ll want to keep that in mind when it comes to deciding between an outdoor and indoor space.
Tying the knot around a holiday will require you to keep a couple of things in mind. For one, there are certain holidays that can be perfect for weddings, such as Labor Day Weekend or Memorial Day Weekend. However, for some (like Thanksgiving), you’ll want to consider how this may or may not affect the ability for your guests to attend. Nonetheless, it’s worth mentioning that the weekdays leading up to Thanksgiving can be the perfect way to save money by booking a weekday wedding. After all, if you have guests coming in from out-of-town for the holiday, a wedding just before Thanksgiving can be the perfect plan.
Holidays:
- Dia de los Muertos – Sunday, November 1 – Monday, November 2
- Veterans Day – Wednesday, November 11
