Planning A Wedding During A Pandemic? Follow These Tips!
Are you planning a wedding during a pandemic? Don’t stress! This blog post will show you how to celebrate safely while preventing the spread of the coronavirus. For those of you who are new to our blog, welcome to Madera Estates! We are a luxury Spanish & European inspired event space located in Conroe, Texas. Our team understands that the coronavirus has put a damper on a lot of milestone events and celebrations. Fortunately, we are happy to report that our doors are open and that we’re taking several precautions to celebrate safely! If you’re planning on getting married during the pandemic, this blog post is for you!
Make Sure Your Venue Is Taking Safety Measures
If you’re recently engaged, you likely didn’t expect a pandemic to put a wrench in your wedding planning! As big of a bummer as it is, there are still ways for you to host a beautiful wedding while celebrating safely. Firstly, you must find out what precautions your venue is taking. Are they abiding by CDC guidelines? Is their business strong enough to withstand the pandemic? Before booking a venue, ask the coordinator about the safety precautions they are taking to ensure the wellbeing of their guests!
At Madera Estates, we are committed to doing everything we can to keep our guests comfortable and safe. We undergo routine deep cleanings and disinfect each area of our facility. Our staff wear personal protective equipment to prevent the spread of germs. Additionally, we have incorporated temperature screenings at our events. Although these safety measures do take extra time and consideration, we are happy to be a reliable source for you to host your event!
Social Distancing
The CDC recommends that individuals (in separate households) remain six feet apart. It’s important you discuss with your venue how to make sure everyone has enough room to socially distance! At Madera Estates, we’ve gotten creative with our seating arrangements. Thankfully our venue is large enough to allow plenty of room for our guests to spread out. For ceremonies, we’re able to place chairs far enough away from one another. There are ways to still host your big day and keep your guests comfortable! Venues with outdoor areas definitely have an advantage in terms of social distancing!
Food Safety – Hire Professionals
Food safety is extremely important! It is imperative that you hire professionals who will carefully prepare and serve food. The same is true for bartenders. Glassware, dishes, silverware, and serving utensils should be thoroughly sterilized.
Getting Fresh Air Outside
Who doesn’t love dancing under the stars? If your venue has an outdoor area, take advantage of it! You can still dance the night away while social distancing!
Hear From A Covid Madera Bride!
Our bride, Alison, recently got married at Madera Estates despite these unprecedented times. Here’s what she had to say about her experience with Madera Estates!
“Graham and I have zero regrets! I can completely understand the concerns, safety for yourselves, safety for your family and guests, safety for your vendors! It’s a lot of stress to put on yourself while wanting to have the special day you’ve been dreaming of.
Madera Estates worked so very hard to prioritize SAFETY. They even went as far to get creative with the space that they have already planned so many weddings in. Figuring out how to properly distance chairs at the ceremony, work with vendors to serve food and drinks safely, socially distancing guests at tables without it being super obvious from an aesthetics perspective, moving the dance floor outside so that we could enjoy dancing with our guests safely. Madera Estates made all of this happen as if it were effortless, and I’ve had so much feedback from our guests about how much more comfortable they felt at the wedding than they had anticipated.
So the ever ending argument: But it’s not the day we imagined. Not all of our intended guests may be able to make it. I’m worried about outside judgment. I could go on with the things I have heard from other couples who are fighting the same decision: have your wedding on the intended date or postpone it? Sadly, I’ve seen couples already postpone their wedding multiple times…desperately trying to wait until that “perfect” time when this is all over and they can have the wedding they dreamed of.
What I will say is I have never met a couple whose wedding day goes as planned. Coronavirus has made this more apparent, but no one will ever have their wedding day go as planned. Ever.
What matters is at the end of the day, you are married to your person just like you planned. Madera Estates is the perfect venue that has ample space that allows you to customize your wedding day while taking proper measures to fight coronavirus. The staff has always prioritized safety while still hosting the perfect party!”
What Vendors Are Saying
We care about our vendors too. Check out what Alison & Graham’s photographer, Ivan, has to say about Madera Estates!
“Madera Estates provides a wonderful experience for couples who have their wedding during this unprecedented time. Madera tasks the necessary precautions to ensure all guests remain safe at all times while visiting. All facilities are disinfected and staff wears protective coverings at all times. Sitting arrangements are situated with the required safe distance practices. All food is always handled with the proper care and only served at the exact time for dinner. Each couple and their family and friends are able to enjoy their special day at Madera Estates knowing that they will be around the most professional and friendly faces caring for their needs.” – Ivan Garcia Studio
