For those that have visited our wedding blog before, you likely know we have a recurring series here that highlights various weddings held at Madera Estates! It is obviously a blast for our team to look back on the fun celebrations and it can also be helpful for engaged couples currently planning their own big day, as it never hurts to have new ideas and inspiration.
On this week’s blog, we’re going to be reminiscing on Kara and TJ’s special day. These two tied the knot at Madera Estates this past Spring. With their ceremony taking place in front of the Grand Fireplace and the reception being held in the Hacienda, this was such a fun celebration from start-to-finish. Before we dive into all of the amazing wedding photos, we would like to welcome any first-time visitors to our blog. Madera Estates is a Spanish and European-inspired wedding venue just north of Houston in Conroe, TX. As stated above, we utilize our blog as a way to feature previous weddings held at Madera, in addition to providing various wedding planning tips to ensure the wedding of your dreams becomes a reality!
Kara & TJ’s wedding included a talented team of vendors. We’ll mention many of these throughout the blog, as well as provide a complete list with links at the very end. Thank you so much to Katy Cox Photography for capturing the entire wedding day so flawlessly!
It’s All About the Details
When planning your wedding day, there are definitely plenty of ways to make it unique to you and your spouse-to-be and the finer details are a great way to do just that.
As we mentioned above, Kara & TJ’s wedding ceremony took place in front of the Grand Fireplace, which serves as the signature backdrop on many weddings held at Madera.
Checking in on the Guys
At Madera Estates, there are two “getting ready” suites available. One of these is called the Whiskey Lounge, which is where TJ and the guys got all spruced up for the big day. After doing so, the guys were able to sneak in a few photos before the rest of the festivities got underway.
As you’ll see throughout this blog post, there are certainly no shortage of photo opportunities around Madera Estates! Whether it be in one of the “getting ready” suites, by the Grand Fireplace or anywhere else, we’re confident your talented photographer will craft an awesome photo album!

Wedding Dress Time!
While TJ and the guys were in the Whiskey Lounge getting ready, Kara and her bridesmaids were doing the same in the Champagne Suite, which includes Kara putting on her stunning wedding gown.
After the gals were all glammed up, they also took a stroll around the venue and captured some awesome photos to add to the album.
First Touch
When it comes to your wedding day timeline, there is definitely more than enough flexibility that you can take advantage of to determine how you would like the day to go. One of those will involve deciding between a first look, first touch or waiting to see your partner first on the walk down the aisle.
Kara & TJ went with the first touch and we have to say the photos turned out amazing. They shared a letter with each other as well. Such a memorable moment for these two!
Peek Inside the Hacienda
Before we get the ceremony started, we wanted to give you an inside look inside the Hacienda, which is where the reception would soon be held.
College Park Flowers supplied the beautiful floral arrangements and everything looked picture-perfect!
Not to mention, how about that wedding cake from Miranda La Vainilla?!
Time for These Two to Become Mr. and Mrs.
For those considering having an evening wedding ceremony with the lights on, we think you’re going to like these photos!
Surrounded by all of their loved ones, these two exchanged their vows and officially tied the knot on this April evening!

After the ceremony concluded, the newlyweds and wedding party enjoyed some champagne in the Whiskey Lounge before they would snap a few more formal photos in front of the Grand Fireplace.
Let’s Get the Reception Started!
With the “I Do’s” complete, it was now time for the reception to get underway! As we featured above with some photos of the Hacienda, Kara and TJ’s wedding reception would be held indoors. The newlyweds made their grand entrance with their precious daughter included as well!
We already showed it once before, but how beautiful (and delicious) does that wedding cake look?! Kudos to Miranda La Vainilla on creating this beauty.
And of course, you can’t have a wedding reception without dancing either, right?! Once the toasts were completed, it was now time for just that!
After Kara and TJ enjoyed their dance together, the dance floor was officially open for business! If you’re looking for someone capable of keeping the dance floor filled up, you can’t go wrong with DJU Entertainment!
With a photo booth, s’mores, bouquet toss and plenty of dancing, this was such a fun celebration!
Sparkler Send-Off
At the end of every wedding day, it comes time for the final send-off. And without a doubt, one of our favorite ways to put a bow on the BEST DAY EVER is with fireworks! Whether that be a full firework display or a sparkler send-off, it’s one of those things that always creates a memorable experience for everyone involved.
